Guy Monseair serves as the Head Coach and Executive Director of City Island Rowing in the Bronx, NY. Hailing from Harare, Zimbabwe, Guy developed a passion for sports like rugby and cricket, alongside a deep love for African wildlife during his formative years. He began his education at Falcon College in Zimbabwe and later continued at Scotch College in Australia, where he excelled in academics, leadership, and sports.

Guy’s career path initially led him into entrepreneurship, where he managed successful ventures in art galleries and horticulture. However, his true calling emerged in the realm of rowing coaching. Driven by this newfound passion, Guy sold his businesses to fully dedicate himself to coaching.

At City Island Rowing, Guy is committed to fostering not only athletic excellence but also the holistic development of his athletes. He believes in nurturing the whole person, particularly in youth sports, to ensure that his coaching goes beyond just physical training.
